Communication: Journal Prompt 34 – Relive one memory

Journal Prompt 34

If you could relive one memory of your life over again, which would you choose and why?

I am having trouble answering this question because I am thinking about a few different things and can’t seem to settle on ‘the best answer’.  But the clock is ticking. It’s late, and I’m tired.   The accountability test is upon me tonight.

So, if I could relive one memory of my life over again, I would choose the year we hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house.  Mom and I discussed it to see if we could pull it off, having so many people over at once to eat, having enough food, space, seats, money, etc.

Once we decided we could do it, we started preparing for our biggest dinner party ever and having the whole family over at once.  One thing about family gatherings is you never know how it’s going to turn out.   Family is family, but when you know that this person doesn’t get along with that person, for whatever reason and for however long it’s been going on,  you have to pray for no incidents.   Mom even let them know during the prayer that everyone should just leave the drama at the door for that day of giving thanks and just enjoy the fellowship.  Not in those exact words but that was the gist of it.

To this day, some members of our family still mention it every once in a while.  We all had a good time, with good music, good food and good people.  Somewhere in this house is a video from Thanksgiving that I need to convert to DVD if it’s not already too late to save it.

Ah, a new goal for 2016.
